Friendship

**Disclaimer: This is a poem I wrote last night in Spanish. I tried to do my best translating it but I realize I have not mastered that skill yet. But still I wanted to share it in English. I hope you like it.

I wish I would have a magic wand and suddenly turn your pain into smiles. Or a crystal ball to show you a future full of rainbows and stars.

But I can’t do more than stand firm by your side, grab your hand and mourn with you, cry with you, curse with you. Fall apart with you with the assurance that one day I will have the strength to stand up and lift us both from the ground.  And then I will kneel next to you and pray when you lose your faith, and step-by-step I will show you its light again, and then we will pray together in silence.

I’ll be here to dry those tears that claim your soul today and I will cleanse the wounds of this battle such as many in life, those that we do not usually choose but has been imposed by destiny.

I will fight with you against any enemy, in any field, like you have done for me.

So many years together, climbing mountains side-by-side, reaching stars, and cutting heads of dragons. This will not be the exception. As our friendship has no season. We have lived sunny brash days with laughter, endured storms, those that come and go, we have stared at starry nights, camped around the fire enjoying the odd sparks of life. We have faced the snow and the cold reality that awakes us from the dream.

And this will not be our last battle either. But there is something that I can assure you today. If life has taught me something is that there is nothing sweeter, nothing more precious, than walk the battles of life with your friendship on my side.
